Champaign to host dedication ceremony for its Neighborhood Stabilization Program

Take a tour of two Champaign homes and meet with first-time home-buyers as part of the city's Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

On Friday, July 15, 2011, the City of Champaign Neighborhood Services Department, Habitat for Humanity, and Center for Women in Transition will host a Dedication Ceremony for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). The event will start in the City of Champaign Council Chambers at 102 N. Neil, Champaign and then a bus will take participants to the homes for a tour and dedication ceremony. Champaign received $1.8 million in federal funding for its local Neighborhood Stabilization Program, which  is a federal grant providing funding for the acquisition and redevelopment of foreclosed and abandoned properties that might otherwise become sources of abandonment and bligh
